In honor of another mother’s day: proud parenting moments

Given the reputation I’ve acquired among Facilitated Communication/Rapid Prompting Method/Spelling to Communicate devotees as “ableist” and “autism hating”, I almost decided not to re-post my Out In Left Field mother’s day post.

But then I thought… what the heck. In a world where too many people are afraid to tell the truth, including about the challenges of autism, including about the realities of facilitated communication, those of us who can, must.

So here it is. I’ll be curious to see whether any of my detractors attempt to take any of this out of context.

(Among those who think it’s more effective to attack me than to ignore me, I imagine the temptation to do so will be quite strong.)
