What happened to “about”?

All of a sudden, practically overnight, everyone stopped saying “about.”

People stopped having conversations about, or discussions about, or concerns about, or anxieties about. 

Instead, everyone up to and including L2 speakers fluent in English started having conversations, discussions, concerns, and anxieties around.
