Who is Catherine Johnson?
Catherine Johnson is a British playwright, screenwriter, and novelist. She was born on October 14, 1957, in London, England. Johnson is best known for her work as the writer of the book for the hit stage musical “Mamma Mia!” which features the music of Swedish pop group ABBA. The musical has been a huge commercial success, with productions all over the world, as well as a film adaptation released in 2008.
In addition to her work on “Mamma Mia!”, Johnson has written a number of other plays, including “Shang-a-Lang,” “Little Baby Nothing,” and “Rag Doll.” She has also written several books for children and young adults, including “The Dying Game,” “Sawbones,” and “The Curious Tale of the Lady Caraboo.”
Johnson has been nominated for several awards for her work in both theatre and literature, and has won several, including the Writers’ Guild Award for Best Play for “Not Quite Gospel” in 1993, and the U.K. Theatre Award for Best Musical Production for “Mamma Mia!” in 2000.
Who is Catherine Johnson, Temple Grandin’s co-author?
I apologize for the confusion in my previous response. After doing some research, I could not find any information about a co-author named Catherine Johnson for “Animals in Translation” or any other works by Temple Grandin.
Temple Grandin has co-authored several books, including “The Autistic Brain: Thinking Across the Spectrum” with Richard Panek, and “Animals Make Us Human: Creating the Best Life for Animals” with Catherine Johnson, but this Catherine Johnson is not the same person as the playwright and screenwriter mentioned in the previous question. Again, I apologize for any confusion that my previous response may have caused.

Who is Katharine Beals?
Katharine Beals is an American linguist and educator who specializes in language acquisition, language development, and bilingualism. She is also known for her views on education, particularly her criticism of certain teaching methods used in the United States.
Beals is currently an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Linguistics at the University of Pennsylvania, and has previously held positions at the University of California, Berkeley, and the University of Arizona. She has published numerous articles and book chapters on topics related to language acquisition and bilingualism, and has also written extensively on education policy and practice
Beals is perhaps best known for her criticism of what she refers to as “progressive education,” which she argues is based on unproven theories about child development and learning, and which she claims has led to a decline in educational standards in the United States. Her views on this topic have been controversial, and have generated considerable debate among educators and academics.
Readers are invited to fact-check these claims. I think I know how ChatGPT came up with the false claim about the University of Arizona, but I have no idea how it got Berkeley.
Well, katharinebeals.com only mentions Drexel and University of Pennsylvania, which I assume is accurate. 🙂
So where did ChatGPT get Berkeley and Arizona?

No idea about Berkeley! There was a Beals at Arizona several decades ago. But there have also been Beals’s at other institutions more enduringly and more recently.
